Why We Started Enablet
Enablet was founded after a simple moment: watching someone struggle with technology for months when all it took was one patient afternoon to change everything.
The idea for Enablet grew from a simple realization: technology is developing faster than people can keep up with. AI advances every single day, and the digital world never slows down — but millions of people are quietly left behind by it. Our founder saw this up close watching their own grandparents struggle with things the rest of us take for granted — video calls, smartphones, staying safe online. That frustration, and the belief that it didn't have to be that way, became Enablet.
The idea is simple: technology should help everyone, not just those who grew up with it. Seniors, kids, new Americans, anyone who feels left behind by the pace of change — they all deserve the same access and the same patience.
We started with a folding table, two laptops, and a hand-written sign. Within a few months, we had re-homed 15 devices and held our first event.
We're not yet a large organization. We have a founding team of six, a growing volunteer list, and a first event coming in June 2026. But the mission is clear: meet every neighbor where they are, and stay with them until they feel confident.
If that sounds like something you want to be part of — as a volunteer, a donor, or a partner — we'd love to hear from you.
